The Pear Tree & Other Poems

Poets write feverishly at times and not at all at other times…a curious thing but maybe we save it up for one grand salvo, attempting to capture just that vision, that intensity, that memory that, in fact, we cherish. That is their power.
I write novels with the same goal – to express and occasionally to teach. Some of the time I succeed, just as some of the time I succeed in a poem. My experience will never match yours precisely, but if I do my job well, you will feel exactly what I intend to express.

In these poems, collected over nearly fifty years, comes more than just a glimpse into the feelings, observations and emotions I have felt and experienced in that time.
